We will stay and enjoy our meals in two fine hotels in the city of Kerkrade, and play all 20 concerts (afternoon and evening) in the large hall of Theater Kerkrade.
In the theater building we also will have access to all dressing rooms and other larger and smaller spaces, to rehearse, teach and practice. We will play the final Gruppo concert also in the St.Jans Church in Maastricht, while the other program is happening in Kerkrade, as usual. And of course the regional concerts by the ESC ensembles will take place all over the province, as in 2021.
The building opposite the theater is the local music school, SMK, where our Orlando office is located. We will be able to use all their excellent rooms and the small hall for our lessons and rehearsals. The combination of theater, music school and library (located in the theater) is called the HuB. https://www.hubkerkrade.nl/This means that logistically and acoustically we will be in a much better place for all our work: performing, rehearsing and teaching. The higher quality of sound in the hall is of course also much better for the radio- and cd-recordings. And it will be much easier to organise the extra recording of patches, as everything is happening in the same hall.
From Hotel Erenstein it is a 10 minute walk (or less) to the HuB, from Parkstad Hotel the distance is too large to walk, so we will organise a shuttle-service, and bikes and E-bikes.
