The Orlando Festival does no longer exist. The province of Limburg has decided to stop the financial support, as of January 1, 2023, after 40 years of housing the oldest and largest chamber music festival of The Netherlands. This not only means that the province is responsible for the end of the Orlando Festival, but it also marks the loss of 50 chamber music concerts, without any suggested alternative. The Board of Directors and the Director/Artistic Leader regret this decision, but they see no realistic option to maintain the festival, with its longtime successful formula, without provincial support.

What remains is the archive of programs of the 40 editions, available on this website under History, and countless radiobroadcasts. In the last eight years of the Orlando Festival six CDs were produced and released on the Etcetera label with portraits of four Dutch composers which were featured at the Orlando Festival: Oscar van Hemel, Hans Kox (double-CD), Louis Andriessen and Rudolf Escher (double-CD).

Etcetera also issued seven CD’s with Gruppo Montebello led by Henk Guittart, artistic director of Orlando from 2014 until 2023, devoted to the repertoire of the Viennese Verein für musikalische Privataufführungen, Volume 3 through 7, plus a special Beethoven CD,  see https://www.etcetera-records.com/artists/gruppo-montebello/
