Ingrid Geerlings

Ingrid Geerlings was a flutist at the Radio Chamber Philharmonic until august 2013. Since then she has the same occupation at the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. She was born in 1972 in Noordwijkerhout, The Netherlands. In 1997 she successfully completed her studies at the Sweelinck Conservatory of Amsterdam cum laude. He primary teacher was Koos Verheul. She also took master classes and private lessons with Aurele Nicolet, Peter Lukas Graf, Karlheinz Zòller, Paul Verheij and Patrick Gallois.

She won her first prize in 1995 ate the International Chamber Music Competition in Colmar, France. Four years later she was awarded the ‘Vriendenkrans’ of the Royal Concert Hall Amsterdam. The same year she also won the press prize of the year by national newspapers the Volkskrant and NRC-handelsblad.

As first flutist she worked with Bernard Haitink and Valeri Gergjev among others. You can listen to her on the CD Musikalische Talente Europas. In addition to her current job, she is also the primary flutist of the Schönberg Ensemble.
